Address from Assemblywoman Skinner

Skinner_208_smAssemblywoman Nancy Skinner will address our branch, guests, and students at Contra Costa College on Friday, March 28th at 1 PM in the planetarium located in room 132 in the Physical Science Building, Building E on a campus map. This address will celebrate the end of celebrations in her district that focus on women’s history. Assemblywoman Skinner has devoted her political career to lifting women and girls to levels that honor their exceptional talents and gifts. We will hear firsthand what California has done to handle equity issues that have kept women and girls fighting for equal opportunity and what unfinished business is still on the calendar in this state.

Branch members are urged to invite neighbors to join us at this special general meeting at Contra Costa College. We have parking passes, so meet at Christ Lutheran parking lot at 11 AM to carpool over to the college in San Pablo. This will be a great opportunity for us to meet and learn about the women leaders and students on the campus. This is jointly sponsored by our branch and the college. Our member Seti Sidharta is helping to coordinate this event at the college, where she is a chemistry professor and Director of the Center for Science Excellence. She was a 2013 honoree for Woman of the Year in Nancy’s assembly district, #15. We are proud of the work Seti and Joyce Muse do in selecting our STEM student for our annual Contra Costa scholarship.
